274 22nd Avenue, South Minneapolis
"I was born in this home July 24, 1912. Also born in this house were Cleon W., Auralea, and William Kohanek, This and all the homes on the river flats were torn down and replaced with large oil storage tanks in the early 1930's. The yard was about 2 feet lower than the street, being bordered by a picket fence. The Mississippi River was 150 feet in back, about ½ block south of the present Washington Avenue Bridge. Across the street the homes had the high cliff walls for backyards. Pictured: Lower Left: Mary Kadlec, Lower Right: Anna Kadlec Kohanek, Upper Right"Rose Bjork(?),Upper Left: Ann Sassiegel(?)"
