August 2001: The 2002 Reunion Location has been chosen!

April 2001: The Connecticut Kohaneks take the next reunion and run with it:

Over Easter weekend, the Connecticut/New Jersey arm of the Kohanek family decided that something must be done about the next Kohanek reunion. So... they have divvied up the work and started to finally move forward with the (now) 2002 Kohanek Family Reunion. See the reunion page for more info.

Feb 2001: Denny and Brian have a successful Cross-Country Trip:

Excerpt From Brian's story... "On Saturday we were on our way to "Fabulous Las Vegas". Though we didn't get to see it in the night with all the casinos lighting up the desert sky, it was still very cool. All the things I've seen on TV, in the movies and in video games, I saw on Saturday. We drove right down "The Strip" and saw all the big time casinos." Mary Ann & Dan buy a house, Michael & Krysta are expecting:

"Well, it's almost official....as of the 24th of January, Dan & I will join the ranks of homeowners. Talk about a novice move! The verbal terms are unending. We should've read a book "Buying a Home for Dummies" 'cause that's what it feels like - a first for us both. Since that last 2 times I've moved have been in January, I swore I'd never do it again, or put my family thru it, but here we go!! We won't have a phone # till the 26th, but here is the new address. 6691 Sandhill Dr, Lino Lakes, MN 55114. It is a 3 bdrn, 3 bath, 3 car, 3 level split with a deck, patio, 131' deep yard that backs up to a preserve. (No one behind us but wetlands and wildlife). There's an awesome kitchen where I can finally get more involved with cooking and baking again and a dining room to seat family and friends. The lower level will become entertainment central! and glorious room for grandkids to run and play hide and seek!! Did I say grandkids (plural?) Mmmm..who could be, er IS, next I wonder? Could it be Krysta & Mike? Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Update from DC:

Fall 2000. Annie got on the Sidwell Middle School girls soccer B team. They won their first game yesterday. Annie started and played about 75% of the game. Julia's is also quite the soccer player. Her team, the Jaguars, is undefeated and was last spring also.

Post-vacation musings from Diane:

Fall 2000. "I'm really proud of our family and your generation. It totally amazes me how far we've come, the diverse paths we've chosen, and how many of your generation have taken up and run with the computer industry. Communications among family members is so instantaneous these days, it makes me feel that all of you are just around the corner."
